Upon arrival the (male) receptionist decided to change the booked “family room” to a “standard double room” regardless of the fact the the larger room was paid for. The receptionist declined my request for a refund, that is, the difference between the family room and the double room. The next day I requested the (female) receptionist to change our room to the booked family room. I was informed this was not possible. On the night before our departure, I decided to go to the bar to have a beer, the same (male) receptionist was on duty. He ignored me for a number of minutes, while there were no other guests at the bar, by keeping busy on the computer in clear view. While pouring my beer he complained that I entered a bad review on the Expedian web site regarding the switching of the rooms. He explained to me that it is policy not to give out a “Family” room to couples, because when an family should arrive they have to be booked into a smaller room, I was not entitled to a larger room. It did not matter that a lager room was booked or paid for. Again I asked for a refund and again my request was declined. Regarding Breakfast and the other staff: It was excellent.

Happy with everything, the only criticism would be the wet room in family room on 2nd floor. It really need fixing, water flooded entire bathroom and almost gone to room as well. Kettle in the room to make a cuppa would be also nice, but that might be just me coming from England ☺️
