Hotel BurgGartenpalais

Our stay here was the highlight of our trip. With a large family, we stayed in the chalet which was so nice and comfortable. We wanted to stay forever! The beds were comfortable. The views were beautiful. We were also right in the middle of everything. It was so easy to tour the old town. We hope to make it back here someday!!

A wonderful hotel with an exceptionally kind and helpful staff. It is family run which is always my preference over corporate owned. The buffet breakfast was delicious and it was a perfect location in the old town. Everything was just a short walk.

This former lord mayor's residence is a wonderful oasis within Rothenburg's medieval city walls, located in the central west-end of town near the quiet section by Burgtor and the green space then just outside the wall, which overlooks the Tauber River. This property boasts a charming rose garden with terrace dining, a quaint traditional restaurant, a breakfast buffet, parking, and friendly professional staff. Our family of 5 stayed in the spacious "Chalet Room" located in the 500-year old renovated hay barn directly behind the rose garden and absolutely loved it. This huge "apartment" also included a gigantic balcony with nice views of the garden and Burgtor (see photos). The manager kindly stayed at the front desk a little after hours to welcome us to the hotel, and helped us navigate over the phone so we could reach the hotel (we did not realize that we were permitted to drive through Klingentor and along the town's narrow streets to reach the small, gated parking lot). We would stay here again in a heartbeat. (Apparently this property is also associated with the cute Burg Hotel, located immediately behind the hotel and connected to the city wall. So check that out, too!)

This hotel is lovely - comfortable room and bed, beautiful grounds, and a nice breakfast. The common areas are interesting and unique. The staff was all helpful except for one older woman at the front desk, who was quite rude to us and our young child. If not for her attitude, I would have happily returned here but she ruined the experience for us.

We arrived much later than expected due to flight delays, but were greeted by warm and welcoming people. Great place to stay as a family.

Friendly staff they make you feel like your family. Breakfast was delicious.

Beautiful family owned hotel with excellent bones and well cared for. The room was huge and the bath modern and amazing. The staff was amazingly helpful to non-German speakers. Great place to stay while exploring this beautiful town. Walking distance to all the sites in the city walls.
