Hotel Rappen Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Air conditioned, spacious rooms, excellent beds/linens/pillows, large bathroom all made the stay wonderful for my family of four. Few hotels can accommodate 4 people in a room. The excellent breakfast, perfect location, Gasthaus and beer garden all made this a hotel we would choose again.

Great location! So close to the old town and not far from the train station. We had a family room so it was a one bedroom with a door. Great for privacy. The breakfast was great with lots of choices.

Really great place to stay. Minutes from the Rothenberg town entrance where there were some good food options as well. Close to the kaufland supermarket. The service was fantastic and Alex spoke perfect English and was so kind and helpful that we ended up staying long in Rothenberg than originally planned. Best thing is the amazing complimentary breakfast. Everything you could ask for and more. Went with my family, including a 2.5yo and had a blast. He also loved the horse statue out in front and the horse theme throughout the hotel.

In a general manner, the hotel is quite good. It is well located, with easy parking. The room structure was working properly, everything you can expect, considering cost/benefit aspects. We had dinner at the restaurant connected to the hotel - a lovely evening, with great food, top-quality beer, and amazing service. Everything was going smoothly until breakfast on the departure date - we had a group of 4 adults and 2 toddlers. There was a great variety of options. But all of us that ate the eggs/omelets (5 out of 6) got sick, and I mean really, really sick (probably salmonella or a similar bacteria). My 11-month-old child had severe diarrhea and vomiting episodes for the next three days, which ruined a big part of our ongoing trip. Still rate the experience as OK overall, since there were really good aspects, especially the dinner, but the hotel needs to be very cautious about this food issue on breakfast.

The two-story suite was beautiful and perfect for me and my two adult children. We each had our own bed and the complimentary items were generous and appreciated. Close to the old town at one of the major gates. Breakfast was diverse and delicious. We not stayed one night, but it was fantastic!

Great hotel... we had the top floor family room with staircase to the loft master bed and half bath. Kids each had their own beds and full bath was on the main floor of the room. Comfortable beds, spacious shower and bathrooms, great views of the surrounding countryside. Good AC as it was very warm mid August. Breakfast buffet was terrific and included with the room price. Free parking another plus. Located right at one of the city gates, perfect location, walkable to everything. 5 min walk to town center for the renowned night watchman tour. There was a fun (but noisy) beer festival in town while we were there so it was nice to stay where it was quieter.

We enjoyed our room once we complained how hot our original room was. The second one was nice with a small amount of A/C. Our kids room was not quite as hot so they stuck it out with a couple fans. The room is very convenient to the old town. It also had parking which helped out.

Everything about the location was good. My room which is a family room was not air conditioned. But they informed me about it prior to arrival. It would have been good if it was. Otherwise the place was excellent, breakfast was excellent , everything else was excellent really!

Our room had a weird step from the bathroom into the bedroom and we kept tripping on it and stubbing our toes hard. We had a family room and it was a nice size, but the parent bed was a roll away they had opened up and the mattress was not good.

One night family trip. Awesome location just outside the old town wall. Easy parking and room was comfy just needed a small fridge (which no German hotels seem to have). Breakfast was 10/10 one of the best I’ve been to in Germany.
