When we moved to Munich last year, we compiled a list of fabulous places to stay and, based on reviews, this was near the top. We had family in town this week and were finally able to plan a trip--primarily to see the Eagles Nest, but I was very much looking forward to the hotel. Unfortunately, it was a really mediocre visit, nothing really went as expected. If I had to put my finger on the exact reason, I would say it was because the hospitality was superficial and lackluster. There was a veneer of friendliness, but no one went above expectations and some of the staff truly dissapointed. It was a just a collection of small stuff--wrong directions from 3 different staff when we set out for our hike, inability to book spa treatments or even dinner in the restaurants because they were overbooked, misinformation on late check-out that we were fine with paying for (an additional 50 euros) but then the offer was rescinded the next morning at noon. Telling again was when I called the desk late in the evening inquiring if they might have a over the counter medication for my daughter who became ill and instead of a bit of kindness and sympathy as it was relayed that this was not available, I recieved a laugh. This place really has potential. The setting is spectacular and the hotel itself is chic, but the ethic of hospitalitiy just is not there. I would defintely not return as there are many wonderful hotels in the region that are well worth a repeat visit.

They have a great baby club but is locked half of the week. Considering the rainy weather it can be a challenge for the parents. Plenty of stairs where should be a ramp or nothing. Wheelchair and stroller are not welcomed. Poor selection of baby TV channels. Kitchen is high class. Breakfast mixed high quality items with stuffing foods such as pastries made from ready to cook frozen stuff. That is sad because it ruins the general impression for peanuts. Even fellow locals avoided them. So, poor sweets an few veggies. The benedict eggs are extraordinary. The last one came with a long blonde hair. I was happy that it was long :(
