Hotel Le Palma

I based myself in this B&B style Hotel in Angeloume as a centre to visit several neighbouring Departments in France. The proprietors were really friendly, helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. The location is a couple of minutes from the Cathedral and therefore excellent for access to the restaurants area. There is some (paying)on-street parking but I used the covered multi-storey car park immediately adjacent to the hotel at €5.80 a night, well lit and heated with piped music - very pleasant! Breakfasts in the hotel are standard continental style at around €8. The hotel restaurant/bar facilities were not open at the time of my stay (off-season - November) so proximity to the town was really helpful. Room was very functional and very clean with comfortable 2 star facilities with en-suite bathroom (shower which I prefer - not bath). The hotel provides excellent WiFi connection and free! If you are a couple or family looking for on-site facilities this may not the best place for you but for a solo visit or overnight resting place for business I found it an ideal budget accommodation. At around €40 per night the hotel was perfect for my 'semi-business' trip.
