Le Relais Saint Michel

The hotel is the closest to Le Mont and is very comfortable for families, especially with the separate bedroom with a door for those traveling with infants. I did notice, however, how those who stayed in the summer months had something to complain about as there is no air conditioning and the windows upstairs don’t open. Opening the large balcony doors we had some Mosquitos fly in and it was February. So I can’t imagine in the summer. But in cooler seasons I would absolutely stay here again.

An amazing hotel! We booked a family suite & ended up with a very recently renovated room in perfect condition. The room was two floors and had two bathrooms (making our bigger than most airbnbs we’ve stayed at in Europe!). View of the mont was the reason we picked this hotel & it didn’t disappoint. This is the closest hotel & its location can’t be beat. The staff was wonderful & easy to communicate with. Call ahead before arrival though to get the gate code for parking.

We were a family of 4 - stayed in room 208. We arrived at 6pm and left at 11am the next day - the walkability to Mont St Michel & the view from the balcony were our top2 reasons for booking this hotel and they achieved both for us since we were there for such a short visit (MSM is open late for the summer in 2022, so getting to see the sunset and tour the abby at night was a perfect way to avoid the heat AND the tour bus crowds!). Please be aware that there is no a/c in the rooms and that the property is extremely dated - but so did all the other surrounding nearby look the same way. Despite the heat - we managed fine without a/c by leaving the balcony door open and also using the fan for the upstairs bed room. The coffee was good but overall breakfast was very mediocre at this property. We ate dinner in the island. Additionally, please contact the property by phone 48hrs before to get access code to enter the gated section of that town - essentially the street that leads to MSM. I believe the entry gate is at the intersection of Le Bas Pays road & D776.

We brought the kids and stayed in the quadruple. The space of the room, the view of the Mont, & the staff were great. The patio would have been great if there was a clean place to stand on it. The cleanliness of this place was not up to par by any stretch. The patio was full of bird poo & cigar/cigarette ashes all over the floor. There was a lot of poo. More than what might have happened between cleaning and arrival. The carpets were stained. The baseboards haven't been cleaned or painted in centuries. The curtains only covered 3/4 of the window in the master (room 208) so bring your sleep mask if you don't want to wake up with the sun. The outlet in the upstairs bathroom didn't work, nor did 3 of the 4 other outlets in the room for my hair tools. (I travel to Europe often and have a European straightner and curling iron so I don't have to worry about converting voltage or plugs, so it's not because I had American appliances). I am shocked by the over "8" rating that fellow hotels.com users have given this hotel. In my early years, ive stayed at a few Motel 6s & haven't done that in about 25 years. I might have chosen the Motel 6 over this one if I knew..... I have stayed in over 30 hotels that I've booked through Hotels.com and many others through other sites, & this is by far one of the worst top two off all my stays in terms of clean. I got duped by the good ratings. Save your money and stay at one of the many other crap hotels in the area for way less.
