Hotel Crayon by Elegancia

This hotel is nothing less than a complete 5 Star property. We arrived in Paris on a late train and checked into the hotel at around 10:30 PM. Being unfamiliar with Europe hotel customs I mistakenly booked a room for 2 people (2 adults and 1 child as per American standards). The European hotels require all people regardless of age. Nonetheless, the hotel graciously put us in a larger room at no additional costs. OMG what a beautiful artistic classics Paris hotel room. Lots of light, classical fixtures, huge bathroom and stand alone bathtub. This was THEE BEST Hotel we stayed in hands down no comparisons. To some of the other typical 3 star hotels we stayed in during our 3 week tour of Europe. This hotel made our time in Paris very special. So conveniently located within walking distance to Louvre and the Metro station across the street. Plenty of shopping and dining right outside the front doors. The breakfast service was fantastic and the food was excellent. I would say say this hotel is run by a top notch manager and in fact we may have met the general manager when we checked out because one of our keys went blank and he went out of his way to fix and and somehow felt the need to apologize about breakfast service for some reason even though we had zero complaints. I think the coffee machine has a malfunction for literally 2 minutes until the server cleaned it out. The point is the manager was instantly on top of it and assured us that they strive for the best

I can't think of a more perfect hotel to stay in when in a creative city such as Paris. The service was friendly and helpful. The beds were the most comfortable we had on our Italy,France,England adventure. AND THE SHOWER!!!!! I am in love. European rooms are small and bathrooms and showers are tiny by American standards but you won't care when you flop into that soft bed with it's luxury duvet after taking a the best shower of your trip! The location is only a couple blocks from the Louvre and the Lourvre/Rivoli Station. Quiet area with restaurants and shops. Perfect place to get the feel of Paris in every room. Thanks to my HOTELS.com representative for pointing out the guest rating and suggesting we try it. He picked the perfect hotel for us. (I was traveling on a Senior trip with my 17 year old son... this hotel accommodated us well but I would check for a room more suited for families if available - More recommended for couples or single travelers. That is why I have marked it as a getaway with friends vs. Family vacation.
