Hôtel Arvor Saint Georges

Very boutique feel - you wouldn’t expect it to be a hotel from the outside and inside, the tiny, 2-person elevator and narrow, 5-floor spiral staircase are so cool. Well-kept. The rooms have the feel of an old building modernized, with some oddities, such as a toilet room just inside the door, then access to the larger washroom, sans toilet, through the 2 bedrooms. Nice airflow, (no AC) with windows on both sides in the family room we were in. Many layers of paint. Old key locks on outer doors, with no knob, only a pull, like a cabinet. Door locks automatically on closure. Interior doors - some did not open or close fully, or with a bit of fiddling. Old building charm. Espresso machine in room was a nice touch. Great water flow, with quick hot or cold water. Ice provided at the front desk upon request. Very friendly and helpful staff. Housekeeping ignored requests for no service to the room on a stay-over, or it was not passed on to them from the front desk. They can easily enter even when the deadbolt is closed, and did not knock or announce themselves. We really enjoyed our stay at Arvour Hotel Paris and felt very at home. It was quite close to a very nice, authentic, and inexpensive restaurant which I cannot remember the name of. It was on the point of a triangle and had both indoor and outdoor seating.

This was really bad, how can such a hotel be called 4 stars as well as good guest ratings? The doors to the rooms were very thin the whole floor could be heard through the doors which incidentally had a poorly working old fashioned key system. Plumbing and other fittings in bathroom were worn and were very old. There was a children's furniture set up and apparently the hotel owner had thought it could be used as a wardrobe or hanger for outerwear etc. it just didn't work at all. Considering the price we have to give this hotel very low marks and we will not go there again.

This hotel is very old and needs a lot of work. Furnitures in the room are so old. Bed sheets and towels are smelly. Toilets are old. Window was broken. The room had no heat. Definitely not worthy the money you pay. Staff was not friendly and helpful. Not good for family travel at all.
