Novotel Nancy

We stayed one night on our road trip. We arrived in the evening and left next morning, had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The location was good for this purpose not far from the highway, room and hotel all in all was clean, service was friendly, everyone in the family was happy with their meals - so this worked very well for us. Happy to choose this hotel again.

We booked a room with an extra bed for a child, but unfortunately the bedding on the spare bed was very dirty, with hairs and marks all over the blanket and mucus on the pillow. Particularly during the current pandemic, we were really disappointed with this. We had arrived very late with tired children so didn’t want to ask for the bed to be changed so used the spare mattress underneath the single bed (which thankfully had clean sheets on it) and a spare blanket (also clean). It was such a disappointing oversight when everything else seemed fine. We had been so impressed with the evening reception staff dealing with a booking issue for another member of our party and being very welcoming and accommodating, but the morning staff seemed totally disinterested when we told them about the issue and offered no real apology or explanation.

The hotel was comfortable and the pool was large enough and clean. The breakfast was delicious and good value. However, we had to pay for dinner for our two children even though we had paid extra on the family room for half board. We weren't made aware of this when we checked in. We also weren't told we had to reserve a table. The set menu wasn't very extensive and we had the impression we had to make our 14 year old choose from that as we thought we had paid. Our waiter was very unfriendly, although the waitresses were more friendly. We wouldn't have dinner at the hotel if we stayed again.

The access ,arriving from Luxembourg or the center of Nancy is unique , because is very easy and safe at any time of the day ! The entrance to hotel is very nice and the backyard too ! The only negative point for me and my family, is the hygiene in the toilets, not clean as it should be and a strong strange smell in the alleyway - corridor .

The property was clean and family-friendly. The staff was helpful and friendly.
