Hotel Des Deux Clefs

I’ve been to many hotels that put a lot of effort into the interior design of the lobby, but they were always empty as the guests just walked through on their way out the door. At this hotel, families were sitting and visiting, playing games, reading, and snacking all through the public space. It truly felt like visiting someone’s warm and welcoming home. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were large, given that the hotel is many centuries old. The rooms are a little scruffy (some wallpaper peeling at the edges) , kind of the way the guest room at your grandparents’ might be when you visit for the holidays. Lovely breakfast of local products in a dining room with chandeliers and lit candelabras on the tables. If I’m ever back in the area, I’ll definitely come back.
