I’ve stayed here multiple times as I have family in Fredensborg. The hotel isright outside the Queen’s Castle so is a scenic location. Many people don’t realize the castle grounds are open to the public. A lake nearby is great for swimming. The town itself is great for shopping and browsing. Not a lot of shops but quality merchandise. Plus there are opportunities for a cappuccino with the ability to just sit and watch the world go by. Charming hotel, charming location and charming small town Main Street.

Although we are like family with the staff now, there were two days with no housekeeping - so our wet towels left on shower floor are what we had to use on two occasions. Gross and inconvenient, especially at these prices. When we returned to our room and realized this, there was no one around to assist. There aren't suitcase stands in the room, so everything had to placed on the floor. Why not provide them? No extra bed pillows - just decorative ones with stains on them. There is no one to reach out to once reservation area closes, which is early. You are on your own. No vending machine to simply get a bottle of water (the bar has them for a hefty price). Nice staff and great breakfasts. Beds fairly comfortable. Room is clean. Would recommend, but know this a lovely old building, with newer sections. The restaurant gets our highest rating, and the prices are very high, however the food is outstanding. Make friends with the staff. They are helpful, but catch them during business hours.
