Vapor 156 Boutique Hotel

This wasn't a hotel, this felt like home. The staff are amazing. Jorge treated me well. Adrian was the night shift, he and I chatted all night. Vanessa was there during the day. The food is incredible. My room was cleaned every day. They arranged for me to sight see and take tours. My phone was stolen at the beach in Varadero (2 hours away). Vanessa offered to have me use her phone to call my family. She organized a taxi for me to get a phone and SIM card while I was there. The next day was my birthday and I was a little sad because I lost my phone. They made cake and sang for me on my birthday. They made sure I felt at home. The place was quite. The first floor is the lobby and eating area. The 4th floor is the roof top where you have breath-taking views. The hotel is in walking distance of Malecon. I was walking there at 10PM and at 5AM. I felt completely safe! Sit and talk with the staff about the background and culture. It's a free experience and you will learn a lot! I am planning to return to Cuba and will stay here again. This was an amazing experience because of the hotel staff.

We have nothing but great things to say about Vapor! From the moment we entered the doors, we were treated like family. Jorge, the hotel manager is so friendly and kind. All of the staff are equally as amazing and accommodating. They will do anything to make you feel welcome. The room and bathroom was great. We enjoyed the cool air in the room and the English movie channels before bed. Many great sites within walking distance. The hotel itself is beautiful. You feel like you’ve stepped into another time period. The food was amassing as well. We enjoyed the coffee and dinner. There’s an extensive menu. Top to bottom, left to right, this was a great place to stay.

We have just finished staying at this beautiful hotel, from the street it is unassuming until you walk in the door to this hidden oasis, the hotel manager and all the staff were so kind and welcoming to our family and nothing was a bother. This was a complete tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of Havana, that we needed at the end of the day, I highly recommend this very special hotel.

It’s so hard to put into words how phenomenal this boutique hotel and staff are. The grounds are beautiful. I would suggest booking the premium room. We had a private balcony, the bed was super comfortable, there is free WiFi and hot water, in addition to complimentary breakfast served in the formal dining room. The staff treated us like family and greeted us with complimentary mojitos on arrival. The staff engaged us in conversations about the hotel grounds, Cuba’s history, suggestions of things to see and secured ground transportation to events. The food on site was fresh and delicious; they are also in walking distance to a few other good restaurants. My many “thank you’s” to the entire staff for making this a terrific trip and experience!

Jorge and the rest of the staff were amazing. They organized taxis, gave us recommendations, and shared their Cuban culture with us! Best mojito we had all trip. The breakfasts every morning were delicious and quick! The building was well taken care of and had beautiful decorations. They treated us like family and made our trip one to remember forever!

This charming boutique hotel is a hidden gem in Vedado area of Havana. The interior is beautifully restored and elegant and the staff make you feel like family. Jorge and his team are friendly, helpful and their service like none other compared to the other hotels we stayed at in Cuba. And the chef’s meals for breakfast as well as dinner was better than our meals at Hotel Nacionale. Highly recommended!

Jorge and his team were amazing and accommodating! We now have family in Cuba! When the taxi first arrived we thought we were in the wrong place, but this is truly a hidden gem in Havana. The neighborhood is a bit rundown, but the hotel is restored with original fixtures and furniture, while the rooms (specifically the bathrooms) are upgraded and modern. Jorge (the hotel manager), Adrian (the concierge) and Christian (the chef) were so friendly and helpful! They answered all our questions and shared Cuba’s rich history with us. We enjoyed the cultural exchange of it all and happily taught them some English idioms. I highly recommend Vapor 156 Boutique Hotel and look forward to staying there again when we return.

This is probably my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s the wonderful Cuban people that did it. I wish I could’ve taken them all home with me as souvenirs! The hotel itself is a lovely, almost hidden gem, that is decorated very nicely. It is very clean and the rooms are beautifully presented, with nice air conditioning to refresh yourself from the heat and humidity. It’s about a 30-minute walk away from Old Havana, which I found to be no problem to be able to see more of Havana and how Cubans live day to day. The food that was offered at the hotel was delicious and so beautifully presented. You can tell the sweet chefs are passionate about what they do! The hotel offers beverages for purchase on sight, which I found to be very helpful and convenient. The concierges and manager were just adorable, and went out of their away to assist with anything presented to them. They really did treat me like family, and as a solo female traveler, that is very special. Cuba is a lovely place, and the people are just delightful. As always with traveling, don’t expect everything to be as it is where you come from. Keep an open mind and see the incredible beauty that each place offers. I hope I get to return to Cuba, and I would plan my trip around the availability of this hotel. Thank you, Vapor, for a special experience that I will always remember.

Love this hotel and will be back again! With the premier rooms you get breakfast upstairs in the dining room with elegant china and silver. Such a luxury! Everyone here is so dedicated. Service is personal, genuine, and attentive. My aunt lives nearby and had dinner with me: a luxury for her and she was treated like family. The surroundings are magnificent! The furnishings are exquisitely curated and arranged. Jorge takes excellent care of guests and very helpful.

We spent 4 nights in Havana staying at Vapor 156. Havana is a contrasting city, undergoing change, not necessarily at the pace the people of Cuba would like, but slowly changing & Vapor 156 is one of these places supporting change. The team managed by Jorge, with Daniel, Oscar, Elizabeth, Kenya & Danay have so much pride in what they do - ensuring you are treated like family - the food is fantastic with a fabulous chief and the guided tours are so informative & show you the real Cuba (not the showy hotels & restored buildings) - thank you Oscar. We were so fortunate to be able to spend a small amount of time with the owner of the hotel who also has the same passion for change and for bettering Cuba. You are all a credit to the people of Cuba and the amazing country, both Ann & I are grateful for being able to spend a small amount of time with you - but the memory will stay with us for a very long time.
