Rixos Premium Dubrovnik

It is a nice hotel. Don’t get me wrong, but for $700 USD a night it is NOT worth it. There is no check for who can come onto the patio and pool or the spa, we had 20 local kids playing chicken in the pool and cliff jumping off the patio after an hour the staff told them to leave. We went into the hyped spa and it smelled so strong of sour mildew right when you walked into the spa reception. It was nearly unbearable. It got a bit better as you went into the sauna and shower rooms. Also, we had locals that were asking to hitch rides up in the elevator to the street level. It didn’t feel exclusive at all. Just over priced. The room was a good size, but the down pillows must have been wet because they smelled like wet dog and the breaker for our room must have been tripped because we had no outlets that worked!. If we paid $300 a night I wouldn’t be writing this review - but it is just marketed as exclusive and luxury and it isn’t. On a positive we had an early checkout and they did provide us with a to-go breakfast.

I was really upset the first day we checked in. I booked 2 sea view rooms for 2 nights($2669.49) but i got 2 garden view rooms with lot of bugs by the balcony. And they didn’t give us 1 free bottle of wine per stay per room. I had to ask at night and a woman who answered the phone only said sorry and couldn’t do anything. She told me to go to the reception in morning to change my rooms but she didn’t guaranteed that i would get new rooms or not it depends on the room available but i paid for sea view!! In the morning I went to the reception at 7:30 am and someone who talked to me he knew what happened and changed my rooms at 1 pm because rooms weren’t ready yet. We got 2 sea view rooms and 1 free bottle of wine per room finally! Maybe bigger room a little bit. (Not sure) My bad day from first night i woke up in the morning with grass view and bugs instead of sea view (not happy with it) very disappointed!! I wasted my 1 day and 1 night with rooms that I didn’t book. They watered grass at night and morning so our balcony was wet since the night until morning! I don’t recommend to book garden view room at all. By the way hotel is nice view and big. Fun for our kids and food was good for our kids. Pool is nice but deep for little kids. My kids liked table tennis and had fun. There is small kid club that my kids liked to go to. We are moving to Valamar hotel for 3 nights Ps I never get a part of refund from 2 garden rooms the first night back.

Beautiful beautiful property and location. Staff is friendly and professional. I was super impressed! Love our stay will recommend to friends, family and anyone traveling to Dubronik.

The setting of the property is stunning and I like that it was an easy walk into town, for those unable to walk it is a €5 Uber of which there are loads around at all times of day. The rooms are a little tired and they don’t have the usual things you would expect, ie, usb charges and smart TVs but the comfort of the bed and the water pressures of the showers make up for it. The upgraded rooms are on the upper floors, however be warned that if you like an early night you are able to hear the piano music from the lobby bar until the late hours. The pool and beach areas are lovely. The buffet breakfast is good and again in an amazing setting. The staff are attentive and very friendly. The only negative we have and it’s a tricky one is there were a group of adults with young children, they were running around the bar areas screaming late at night, the same around the pool area and we also had the issue with them running up and down the corridors in the early morning. The parents clearly couldn’t care less as they sat their drinking and ignoring it all and the hotel were reluctant to step in to tell them to sort it out. I struggle to see how any parent thinks it acceptable to let your child out the room at 6am to go knocking on doors and run around screaming!

Fantastic hotel with everything that you need to relax and rest. It will start with the champagne on the tarrace with a stunning view on the bay. Great choice of spa treatments and saunas, restaurants and kids playgrounds. Highly professional and kind staff that will take care of everything. Breakfasts for kings!
