NH Bogotá Pavillon Royal Hotel

The room I had was in bad shape. Both windows were broken and it was very noisy outside. I asked for a top floor they put me on 3 (out of 7 plus floors) but that wasn't really the issue. I asked them to fix atleast the bathroom window which wouldn't close/lock firmly. They said they were going to fix it but didn't during my three night stay there. There were no slippers hair dryer or iron as advertised on hotels.com. I had to ask for all these things, and they did provide the iron and hairdryer (I did not ask for the slippers). The breakfast was the best part and their coffee and the location is good (it's a more upscale neighborhood with tons of excellent quality restaurants). The worst was that for two days and two nights they had no working wifi. As a foreigner I relied on wifi to connect to my colleagues and family. The reception on day 2 said they were working on it, but suggested we go to their other branch (not close) to use that branch's wifi (ie there appeared to be a lack of urgency to fix it or understanding of its importance for a 4-star NH hotel). I cancelled a future stay there later in my trip and found a lower priced (by over 20 USD), better quality hotel minutes' walk away. Also, the food in their restaurant for dinner was good, but you can find much cheaper and better quality food minutes from the hotel. that said, my colleague who stayed there last year was given a junior suite (at the same rate I paid) and had a better experience.So it may be inconsistent.
