The Charlee Hotel

My family and I just returned from a week at The Charlee Hotel in Medellin and we absolutely loved the hotel! Not only was it located right in the heart of the Poblado, but it was walkable to many amazing restaurants and shopping areas. Our room was huge with a sleeping area and a living room where we enjoyed complimentary drinks offered by the hotel every day. The bathroom was stocked with high end products and everything you could need for a hotel stay, and our beds were incredibly comfortable and we slept very well. We were worried about the noise from the outside bars and restaurants, but the glass sliding door that we pulled shut every night blocked out all of the noise and we slept soundly. The staff was always friendly and ready to help, and we were greeted with hellos and smiles by everyone. We especially appreciated Samuel and Laura, our servers during breakfast, who attended to us so well that they remembered what our children wanted when we walked in! George, the concierge, was so helpful with booking dinner reservations and a private driver/guide for a day trip to Guatape. His help and recommendations saved me so much time and I was grateful for his help. The highlight was the food at the hotel! Never did we expect to have some of the best food right there. An the rooftop pool was a great place to spend the morning with the kids. All in all, the best hotel stay we've experienced!

This was a great experience at The Charlee! Beautiful property in the heart of El Poblado neighborhood with tons of restaurants and bars just outside the door. The service is top notch. The rooms are super comfortable and spacious and the views from high floors (we were on floors 5, 7 and 9, three rooms for our family trip) were awesome. One our our room was a jacuzzi room and was spacious enough for all of us to enjoy and they set it up for us when we needed it. They have a wonderful happy hour with free cocktails and the best part is that you can have it at the bar but they also go room by room with a drink cart offering you free cocktails right at the door of your room! The rooftop area with the pool has great views and nice late night offerings. The pool is also located here but be warned the pool is not available after 3 pm due to the area becoming more of a night club, but this wasn’t an issue for us. The complimentary breakfast is great, some great local options buffet style but also eggs cook to order any way you want and specialty coffee beverages and juices. I would stay here over and over again!

Front desk staff are horrible and not friendly. They try to lie to you like you were a kid. However, we encountered only two nice people in there her name was Angelica and the other man was on the entrance of hotel. Very nice and helpful. But everything else was horrible. Even if you are going with kids don’t go here

Not People Friendly, I was charged a no show for a flight that was cancelled due to bad weather. I spoke to Mr. Winston about the situation, but OfCourse he did nothing. I don't recommend this place and I will tell my family, friends, clients, customers not to visit this location. You can get more for your money somewhere else.

No refund even so an emergency in the family and they told me two time to call Orbitz but they did than refuse! Very disappointing!

This place is not a place to bring family first and upmost. Its for a good time with adults only. They tried to weasel themselves on charging us some new hotel insurance tax at the end that was never disclosed. $162,000. I TOLD THEM THEY CAN SHOVE IT UP THERE @$$. They stood down and we left. The food was on average passable. Limited breakfast. Hotel needs a lot of Construction repairs. Its real noisy because its by all the bars. Im trying to find something positve to say. The alcohol party tray that came by the room every evening at no set hour was a nice touch. The room service for cleaning was good. Again, being a Gold Star Expedia Member...I would not recommend this place. Plus, there dinner prices are ridiculous. Most expensive I have seennin Medellin andnthe food is not all that good. That's probably why most people eat out of there. I have not written a review like this in years. Most of my stays have been excellent with other hotels.

It was amazing!! Great hotel! Great location! Excellent customer service! A bit noisy but not too bad considering that it is in the center of a very cool area full of bars, nightclubs and delicious restaurants. Not for kids or families though.. Ideal for young spirited people, for couples, Executives or for people traveling by themselves.
