Lakeview Inns & Suites - Chetwynd

Property served us just fine as we were only stopping through on our way to grand prairie. Lady at front desk was ok, however didn’t know much about surrounding area. The hotel had comfy beds; however the bathroom light did not work. When it was mentioned to front desk, clearly simply shrugged shoulders and replied “we don’t have any maintenance here right now” and that was it. Had to use bathroom, shower, etc in the dark. We have a small child, so this was very disappointing.

When checking in I had to ask the front desk agent to move down to the end of the counter to use my credit card, as she was allowing to make guests to stay within a couple of feet, able to view my personal information. The front desk agent was very rude about it, when I brought it to her attention. When we got to the room, it was moderately tidy, but there was dirt residue in the walls and fridge handles, and under the bathroom cabinet area. We noticed a bug on the floor, and another in one of the beds. But the final straw was when my child moved a pillow on the bed and found a package of cigarettes. They hadn’t even turned the bed from the last guests! Absolutely disgusting! We immediately notified the front desk lady and she was rude again. I told her we were leaving. The manager apologized and was checking over the room with the housekeeping agent as we left. I would not recommend this property to anyone who cares about cleanliness and professionalism. I know it’s a challenging industry, but those things are non-negotiable. I am sad to say that I would not ever book a stay here again.
