Hotel Lucca

Our stay at the hotel Lucca was just wonderful! Hans is an exceptional host, very kind and attentive to details and goes to any extra miles to make your time there fantastic. The best hotel stay anywhere…ever. Hans, the proprietor of the hotel, greeted us warmly upon check in. Our room was huge and beautiful. Easily fit 2 adults and 2 kids. Breakfast was excellent with many choices of bread, meat, cheese, fruit, orange juice, coffee, tea, butter, and pastries. The hotel is in a great location just a short 2 minute walk to all the restaurants and shopping. When we ever return back to Bruges we will defined return to this hotel.

Just a block from a main shopping and dining area, this was a perfectly located and quite lovely place to stay. Super comfortable bed, excellent water pressure/ bath. The only funny thing is due to family health crisis while we were there the lobby sometimes had to be closed. The breakfast included was the best hotel breakfast ever! Definitely a place we’d go back to.

This property is right in the heart of all the attractions. Lots of restaurants and stores. The hotel has lovely character with beautiful antiques throughout the family-owned property. The owner is kind, gracious, and helpful, making our stay special. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. We are very pleased with our stay at Hotel Lucca.

A charming hotel run by a delightful family. They made me feel quite welcome.

Delightful location - very close walk to Old City attractions and bus ride for further out and to train station. Felt like we travelled back in time - decorations were similar to what we saw in local museums. Room was large and well equipped. Breakfast was generous and delicious, served in a room with brick arched ceiling - a perfect way to start the day. Hans is an ideal host of his family run hotel. I hope to come back with my husband!!

We have been travelling for a month. This hotel was the best experience yet. The owner Hans, welcomed us on arrival, organized our rooms 5 hours early, He also organized an early breakfast on our departure day. He and his wife treat every guest like family. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Bathrooms roomy. Fantastic location a short stroll to the Markt. Great restaurants nearly. This one was 11 points out of 10. Well done.

From start to finish out stay at Hotel Lucca was simply outstanding. We (family of four) arrived hours later than we intended on the night of our arrival due to being held up in serious traffic at the Belgian Grand Prix. But that was not a problem for our excellent host Hans, who waited up to let us in, and made us feel so welcome after a long and arduous trip. Our family room was wonderful - comfortable, spacious, filled with the most wonderful period furniture, and spotlessly clean. The hotel is so full of character, but the greatest character of all is Hans himself (and his lovely wife, whom we did not meet but spoke to on the phone). Breakfast was wonderful - great food, terrific coffee, fresh fruit and pastries, and all served in the wonderfully atmospheric dining room in the historic basement. As an historian myself, I was in absolute heaven! As other reviews have also said, Hans is a wonderful musician, and he played piano for us and we discussed Beethoven - I cannot think of anywhere else in the world where your host would be a man of so many parts and talents - simply amazing. When we needed to leave early for a flight on the final day of our holiday, once again Hans came up trumps and an early breakfast was prepared for us. I can honestly say that I would not even consider staying anywhere else in Bruges. It does not get any better than this gem right in the heart of this beautiful city, and memories of our stay at Hotel Lucca will stay with us forever.

Our family loved our stay. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. Very clean and comfortable and close to everything. I highly recommend!

The owner and his wife are very nice and informative and the hotel is filled with history. The family room (3 beds) is very comfortable and spacious. The dining room is charming. We highly recommend it and will stay again.
