Courtyard by Marriott Baku

Underwhelmed. Still couldn't believe this belongs to a Marriott chain as the service was below average on a number of occacions 1. A big 4 star hotel that doesn't have anyone to take your luggage down from the room after checkout... and if they do they will consider it as doing you a favor 2. Unprofessional staff at the reception who have zero hospitality experience First incident: My wife was tired and couldn't have breakfast in the restaurant so I asked if I can have someone bring up food to her. They told me I have to do it myself as there is no one available to send up the food to her! Second incident I asked one of the waiters during breakfast time for bottles of water to take my room as we were leaving. He wanted to charge them on to me. Then when I asked how come if I get complimentary water to the room everyday he said then you need to ask the room service for them! A technical comment (I doubt Management would understand it but no harm in mentioning it) The superior room during booking mentions it can take up to 2 adults and 2 children. How come one king size bed can accommodate them all? If this is the case then they should not charge for an extra bed, or at least the room should have a couch, or finally simply at least just mention can take up to 2 adults. That I consider as misinformation. If they are that understaffed, I recommend to close this hotel branch until further notice!

Good hotel, however there was no concierge service or valet parking, I have booked for 2 adults and 3 kids so they charge for it extra but they refused to provide roller bed for the smallest kid , windows or balcony can’t be opened, based on my experience with this brand internationally it’s lower than the expected Reception stuff was so good and helpful but should not play the game that I’ll make an free upgrade which never gets
