The Grampians Motel & The Views Restaurant

Property canceled my booking minutes before we arrived, without a phone call, jυst a message, which I had not recieved. They explained that as we were to arrive after hours (which I had said to them a couple of days earlier) they required full payment, since that hadn't been made, they pulled our booking. I had no idea this was their preference. No where did I read this and as I said, no phone call was made to me to explain this! After debating this discrepancy, my family were allowed a room. The saga continued, the 'daily' housekeeping didn't exist. Our dishes sat, we couldnt use them for the following meals. The shower was dirty, with an indecisive water temperature, still had hair in the drain, hand soap spilt on the floor, floor hadn't been vacuumed, moved bed to the centre to tuck my daughter in to discover hair, food, rubbish etc down the side of her bed. Filthy! The only plus, the natural beauty of the grampians and the wildlife.

2nd time stay same best experience as first stay. Bonfire in evening perfect, kids called this place as Kangaroo party. They love it

Excellent choice for wildlife encounter :D We love animals and we can spot them inside our room over the big glass door. Excellent design to balance the view and let your family to interact with animals under safe conditions. You can park right in front of your room and save the effort to move your luggage. The hotel is pretty easy to spot along the road. Don't expect fancy interior, it's clean and comfort. I brought my own shampoo and towels. The electric mat on the bed is a life saver and deserves a 5-star.

This place is pretty good. Its changed hands somewhat recently so a lot of reviews that talk about the place being dirty are now outdated. My room was perfectly clean, if a little outdated. Confortable bed, clean linens, free soap. Check in was friendly, the views is a great place to eat. Swimming pool is however more suited to children, quite small. Its also not "minutes walk' to halls gap, its over 3km. Can you walk it? Of course you could but thats a half hour. I'd stay there again.
